In our continued commitment to advancing survey technologies, SEP Hydrographic is excited to announce the acquisition of the NORBIT WINGHEAD i80S multibeam echosounder.
This high-performance sonar system will initially be mobilised to one of our ongoing projects, delivering fast and accurate data acquisition for our clients. The WINGHEAD i80S is engineered for demanding operational environments, characterised by its ultra-high resolution enabled by a curved array broadband design. Its active roll and pitch stabilisation allow for the collection of high-quality data even in challenging conditions. With a compact and lightweight transducer head, the system is versatile enough to be deployed on a range of platforms, from small unmanned surface vehicles to larger vessels.
Notable technical specifications include a power consumption of up to 100W, a wide frequency range from 200 kHz to 700 kHz, and the capability to operate at depths between 0.2 meters and 400 meters, achieving a remarkable depth resolution of 9 mm. The i80S supports multiple bottom detection methods and includes real-time sound speed correction, making it an invaluable tool for hydrographic surveys, coastal mapping, environmental monitoring, dredging operations, and navigation.
SEP Hydrographic Director Paul Dodd commented, "The addition of the WINGHEAD i80S to our survey equipment arsenal allows us to deliver even higher quality data and better meet our clients' needs. We are always looking for ways to improve our services, and this investment is a testament to our dedication to providing the best possible results."
Stay tuned for updates on how we will be utilising the i80S on our projects, and contact us for more information on how it can benefit your next survey. For more information, send us an email at info@sephydrographic.com
